- Title
DNA Legislation: Status Report.
- Authors
Grimes, A. J.
- Abstract
The article reports that concerns of scientists and the public with the risks in recombinant DNA experiments have resulted in the introduction of numerous bills in the U.S. House and Senate to regulate what experiments can be carried out, by whom, and under what conditions. The bill would also require the DNA commission to study ethical and scientific activities in this area jointly with the National Commission for the Protection of Human Subjects of Biomedical and Behavioral Research and report to the Congress within two years and annually thereafter.
