- Abstract
The article focuses on a study which examined ancient marine primary producers and sedimentary environmental conditions of the Chihsia Formation in Guangyuan, Northeast Sichuan, China based on biomarker records. Samples of hydrocarbon source rocks were collected from the Shangsi Section. Results of the study showed that phenanthrenes, dibenzofuran were significant biomarkers in the alkane fraction. It also observed a change in the abundance of bacteria relative to algae in the marine ecosystem.
