- Title
Who Is Accountable for Racial Equity in Health Care?
- Authors
Blustein, Jan
- Abstract
The author reflects on who is accountable for racial equity in health care in the U.S. She suggests that racial disparities are a ubiquitous feature of the U.S. medical care system with medical care delivery substantially segregated by race/ethnicity. She argues that the era of accountability in the medical care system offers the opportunity for people to identify, champion and learn from clinicians and institutions that provide unbiased medical care and that racism in medicine cannot be ignored.
