- Abstract
The article discusses a case of enteroviral haemolytic uraemic syndrome in a 17-month-old girl. It mentions the symptoms of this condition including microangiopathic haemolytic anaemia, acute nephropathy and bloody or symptomatic diarrhoea. The events leading to the girl's death are also described, which include having a seizure, leucocytosis and cardiac arrest. It concludes that enteroviruses can infect endothelial cells and colonic cells.
