- Abstract
The article offers information on Candida auris, a multidrug-resistant (MDR) yeast, as the emerging cause of nosocomial pathogen globally, particularly the multidrug-resistant fungal infections in hospitals around the world. Topics include the misidentification of C. auris in the routine microbiology laboratory, the virulence of C. auris due to genetic predisposition, and the emergence of C. auris as public health risk.
