- Abstract
The authors focus on the concept of nonradiographic axial spondylarthritis in the early identification of spondylarthritis (SpA) patients. It states in the 1970s observation by some rheumatologists let them to realize that clinical aspects and familial aggregation was shared by a heterogeneous group of patients with psoriasis, peripheral arthritis, spondylitis, enthesitis, and related diseases. It comments on the lack of sensitivity of radiographic sacroiliitis in early disease detection.
