- Abstract
In this article from the Journal of Magnetic Resonance Imaging, the authors discuss the potential of using MRI-based radiomics models to detect lymphovascular invasion (LVI) in breast cancer. LVI is an indicator of poor prognosis in breast cancer and can guide treatment regimens. The authors developed a radiomics model that incorporates both intratumoral and peritumoral regions, as well as dynamic contrast-enhanced (DCE) and diffusion-weighted images (DWI). The model outperformed clinical-only models and showed promise in noninvasive LVI detection. However, further research is needed to standardize imaging parameters and develop efficient radiomic-guided MRI protocols.
