- Abstract
The University of California, Davis has established a new research Center for Women's Cardiovascular and Brain Health, funded through residual legal settlement funds. The center aims to address sex disparities in cardiovascular disease and dementia by conducting transdisciplinary research that considers social determinants of health. The center focuses on the intersection of heart and brain health in marginalized and diverse communities, particularly women, and adopts a convergence research approach. The center's work is unique and innovative, with a focus on sex differences in heart and brain health and the potential for direct clinical impact. The center also emphasizes behavioral and implementation science, addressing social determinants of health and promoting diverse participation in clinical research. The document contains a list of references and citations from various scientific articles and reports related to topics such as diabetes, cardiovascular disease, social determinants of health, and Alzheimer's disease, providing a starting point for further research on these topics.
