- Abstract
The paper presents the results from the investigations on the removal of nickel ions from aqueous phase by adsorption onto fly ash. The kinetics of the adsorption was studied at room temperature and deferent nickel ion concentrations. The experimental data were described using the pseudo-first order, pseudo-second order kinetic models and intraparticle diffusion model. It was observed that the pseudo-second order kinetic model described the sorption process with high correlation coefficient (R2 = 0.998), better than the other kinetic models. The sorption capacity ofNi2+ ions at equilibrium was calculated to be 0.0714 mg g-1.
