- Title
Cardiopulmonary Exercise Testing for Prognostication in Advanced Cystic Fibrosis Lung Disease and Beyond.
- Authors
Milinic, Tijana; Ramos, Kathleen J.
- Abstract
The article focuses on the use of cardiopulmonary exercise testing (CPET) for prognostication in advanced cystic fibrosis lung disease (ACFLD), a tool previously established in other cardiopulmonary disorders. Topics include the retrospective study by Radtke and colleagues, which demonstrates that higher peak oxygen uptake (V_O2peak) and peak work rate (Wpeak) measured by CPET are associated with reduced risk of death or lung transplantation in ACFLD patients with FEV1<40% predicted.
