- Abstract
The article offers information on the screening strategy recommended by International Association of Diabetes and Pregnancy Study Groups (IADPSG) for gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM). Topics discussed include issues relating to the increase in GDM prevalence, and workload; risk for increased medicalization of care; and the usage of a non-fasting 50-g glucose challenge test (GCT) to determine whether an oral glucose tolerance test (OGTT) should be performed.
