- Abstract
The article describes a study which conducted a passive survey in the hospitals of Bangui in Central African Republic, to confirm cases of Buruli ulcer in the region. The survey reveals two confirmed cases of Buruli ulcer. The patients, both farmers from the Ombella M'poko region, were admitted to Hôpital de l'Amitié in Bangui after exhibiting extensive skin ulcers. Researchers emphasize the importance that the public health authorities be trained and informed to identify the disease in the early stages.
