- Title
Making the Right Investment Choices in Your 401(k).
- Authors
Greenberg, Marc A.; Mandel, Maurice S.
- Abstract
The growth of defined contribution plans in the U.S. has shifted the traditional responsibility for making sound investment choices away from plan sponsors into the hands of individual plan participants. As a result, many employees are faced with the need to make investment decisions that will significantly impact their 401(k) retirement savings. The best approach to selection is a three-step process: determining one's financial objectives; learning the characteristics of the investment options offered; and optimally matching investment goals.
