- Abstract
This article presents a study on the use of cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) sTREM2, a soluble variant of transmembrane protein, as a marker to examine the temporal order of pathological events early during Alzheimer's disease and before the onset of clinical symptoms. It discusses the release of ectodomain of sTREM2, the temporal sequence of changes in CSF sTREM2 and markers for amyloid deposition and neurodegeneration, and the asociation of CSF sTREM2 with mutation status and age.
