- Title
Is Universal Pediatric Lipid Screening Justified?
- Authors
Gillman, Matthew W.; Daniels, Stephen R.
- Abstract
The authors offer views on whether universal pediatric lipid screening is justified. While the authors acknowledge studies that offer support for the potential benefits of routine pediatric lipid screening, they believe these evidences do not necessarily amount to a solid rationale for universal screening. The authors claim that most randomized trials of lipid lowering in youth are relatively short and involve mediation treatment of high-risk children.
