- Abstract
The authors describe the role of state attorneys general in developing, refining and implementing health policy in the U.S. They claim that attorneys general have the power and authority to pursue actions on behalf of a state. They discuss the arguments of state attorneys general against the health care reform legislation, along with the actions they have taken in response to the passage of such legislation. The authors also highlight the contributions of state attorneys general to public health.
