- Abstract
The article focuses on thalidomide, an antiangiogenic and immunomodulatory agent that produces a response rate ranging from 32 to 64% in patients with refractory/relapsed multiple myeloma (MM). There has been a debate regarding the role of thalidomide in the management of extramedullary plasmacytoma (EMP) during the last five years. It has been demostrated by Rosinol et al. that thalidomide produced a dramatically poor response rate in myeloma patients with extramedullary involvement.
