- Abstract
The article puts in focus the pathologic diagnosis of adrenal myelolipoma. Myelolipomas are rare, benign entities composed of fat and myloid hemaopoietic precursors. These tumors frequently involve the adrenal glands. These tumors are characteristically nonfunctioning and asymptomatic, although they can present with acute rupture or with nonspecific complaints (i.e., abdominal pain or fullness). The nature and pathogenesis of adrenomyelolipomas are unknown. However, three theories have been proposed to understand and explain the complexities and the processess involved therein.
