Quantum mechanics: Hidden context.

- Abstract
The article reports on a study which examines a system of trapped ions and demonstrate that quantum mechanics conflicts with non-contextuality regardless of the quantum state of the system. The researcher have utilized a pair of trapped ions for which almost any spin state could be prepared on demand. They made a sequence of compatible measurements on the spin states to test whether a Bell-like inequality was obeyed or violated. Moreover, the study showed that for all quantum states tested, they found a strong violation of the inequality, a clear demonstration of the contextual nature of quantum mechanics.
