CIVILIAN SURGERY - MILITARY SURGERY: TWO DIFFERENT WORLDS Gregor Bruce G K Bruce Private Practice, New South Wales The presentation highlights the differences between a civilian surgeon and a military surgeon. TMR consists of nerve transfer from the transected peripheral nerve to a nearby nerve branch supplying an adjacent muscle. The acute care advancements during the First World War were crucial in the treatment and recovery of soldiers and allowed for the development of the techniques of the modern-day surgeon.
