- Abstract
The article discusses the importance of providing pharmacy students with introductory pharmacy practice experiences (IPPEs). An overview of an institutional direct patient care (DPC) IPPE that meets the requirements of the AccreditationCouncil for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) and the college of pharmacy in providing an experience that gives students real patient care responsibility is offered. It is concluded that students perform a needed service for the health system and patients.
