- Abstract
Only a few forensic specimens assembled by the founder of forensic pathology in Serbia, Dr. Eduard Michel (1864-1915), survived the Habsburg occupation during the First World War [[2]]. After we cracked the code that Professor Milovanovi'c used to label the forensic specimens, we were able to connect them with their specific autopsy reports, and link them to papers [[4]] and textbooks [[5]] published as far back as 120 years ago. Hence, it is very important that there is a thread which connects older and younger staff through verbal tradition, a heritage through which younger staff can comprehend the historical significance of some events, documents and forensic specimens.
