- Abstract
The article presents a study of wound healing in free gingival connective tissue autografts with and without epithelium. It is aimed at evaluating the ultrastructural changes that happen with the placement of epithelium-connective tissue grafts and connective tissue grafts. Methodology involved the administration of local anesthesia and dissection at the mucogingival junction to separate the alveolar mucosa, elastic and muscle fibers from the underlying periosteum. A Michigan 0 periodontal probe was used to measure the dimensions of the free graft material on the hard palate.
