- Title
Reverse Social Work's Neglect of Adults Involved in the Criminal Justice System: The Intersection and an Agenda.
- Authors
Pettus-Davis, Carrie
- Abstract
The author argues that adults in the criminal justice system in the U.S. are insufficiently addressed by the social work profession. She notes several social justice issues related to criminal justice, including the racial and ethnic disparities in the prison and parole populations, poverty and homelessness, and mental health concerns. She advocates for a social work research agenda which considers family impacts, social service utilization, and psychosocial aspects of criminal justice.
