- Abstract
The article offers a study on the role of molecule branching and glycosidic linkages on polydextrose (PDX) degradation by gut microbiota. It mentions that PDX degradation was assessed through colonic fermentation simulation model and was compared to intact degradation. Moreover, it shows that relative abundance of non-branched molecules and single-branched molecules in the simulation were higher and lower respectively, while abundance of glycosidic linkages was low, than that of intact PDX.
