- Abstract
Les maladies diarrhéiques comptent parmi les maladies les plus fréquentes et les plus répandues dans le monde. Deuxième cause de mortalité infantile dans les pays en développement. L'OMS estime qu'il ya chaque année, 4 milliards de cas de diarrhées avec environ 2,5 millions de décès dans le monde. Plus de la moitié des décès des enfants des moins de 5 ans dans cette même partie du monde est due à la diarrhée, au paludisme et à la pneumonie. Le Territoire de Kailo connait l'apparition répétitive des cas des maladies diarrhéiques, ce qui avait motivé cette recherche afin de déterminer les facteurs associés aux maladies diarrhéiques. Une étude transversale à visée analytique était menée dans deux aires de santé de Katako et Nyoka environ 400 ménages ayant au moins un enfant de moins de 5 ans ont été sélectionnés par échantillonnage probabiliste à 3 degrés. Le calcul de rapport de cotes (OR) avec son intervalle de confiance et la régression logistique ont été utilisés pour identifier les facteurs de risque de la diarrhée. L'absence de dispositif de lavage des mains dans les ménages, l'ignorance des causes de la diarrhée et à une mauvaise attitude vis -à-vis de la diarrhée de l'enfant. Un effort sur l'approvisionnement de l'eau saine, d'assainissement des toilettes et la communication sur le changement de comportement dans le village avec PNEVA contribuerait à prévenir la diarrhée dans la zone de santé de Kailo.
