- Abstract
The author discusses role played by phosphorylation and K63-linked polyubiquitination for rapid activation of transforming growth factor β–activated kinase 1 in chondrocytes. Topics include activation of intracellular signaling pathways in chondrocytes that induce the activation of transforming growth factor β–activated kinase 1 (TAK-1), by cutting articular cartilage; regulation of cell proliferation by transcription factor p63; and resistance of mice with p63 gene to osteoarthritis.
