- Abstract
Objective To investigate the antioxidant activity of scutellarin in vitro. Methods The total antioxidant capacity and the scavenging effects on DPPH, superoxide anion and hydroxyl radical of scutellarin were measured by spectrophotometer and microplatereader. Results In vitro, scutellarin significantly increased the clearance rates of ABTS.+, DPPH, superoxide anion and hydroxyl radical. The EC50 values were 64.2, 82.9, 71.6 and 43.3 µmol/L, respectively. Conclusion Scutellarin shows obvious antioxidant effects in vitro.
