- Abstract
The article focuses on a study which determined whether in obese prepubertal children insulin resistance (IR) is associated with the development of liver steatosis. Fasting blood samples were drawn from study participants for the evaluation of liver function test and anthropometric measurements. The study revealed that obese children were more insulin resistant when compared to controls. It also showed that liver steatosis is an emerging problem in prepubertal severely obese children.
