- Abstract
Carbon monoxide (CO) poisoning is one of the most frequent causes of death resulting from poisoning. Patients suffering from CO poisoning present to the emergency department with the complaints of headache, nausea and vomiting. Focal neurological deficits mimicking stroke, convulsion or coma may also be seen. We present a 81 year old woman who was brought to the emergency department for thrombolitic treatment following a new onset focal neurological deficit who was eventually diagnosed with CO poisoning.
