- Abstract
In this article, the author discusses the concepts of Kafi and Dohra used in Siraiki literary tradition and the cultural politics of the Kafi movement. It mentions that kafi is derived from Arabic word Qawafi, a poem, which can also be sung due to its rhyme scheme and rhythm and combines the characteristics of musicality, material and finally, spiritual aspects of human life. It informs that dohra means a couplet which was initially used in Siraiki folk literature and oral tradition.
