- Abstract
This article discusses a case study of a 30-year-old woman who presented with a painless mass in her right axillary region. Initially, there were concerns of malignant lymphoma, but further imaging tests revealed high uptake of [18F]FDG in the mass and lymph nodes. Additional tests, including contrast-enhanced CT scans, color Doppler ultrasound, angiography, and magnetic resonance imaging, helped identify the mass as an epithelioid hemangioma (EH), a benign vascular lesion. The article emphasizes the importance of recognizing EH as a potential differential diagnosis for hypervascular masses with high [18F]FDG uptake, as it can mimic malignancy.
