- Abstract
Online life made new styles of correspondence for us, which had a huge impact on social media on a regular day to day lifestyle of the general population. Internet based life has carried individuals with basic interest together and extended the skyline of thoughts around the world. Notwithstanding sedentary life there has been an additional effect of online networking on human conduct and society. The aim of the study is to measure the impact of social networking on mental well-being of users, users' social behaviour and multifarious threats on the user population.A cross sectional questionnaire survey was conducted. A total of 102 responses were tabulated and analyzed using statistical analysis.In the study, it was found that 58% of the population are active on multiple social networking sites and 46% of the population visited social networking sites with no goal. This study was conducted to acknowledge the different ways our human emotion is affected through social media and different social networking sites. The conclusion of the survey is that the respondents have moderate awareness about the effect of social media on human behaviour and their mental well- being.
