- Abstract
Cultural competence training has become an increasingly recommended component of workforce development as it is thought to promote professional and organizational capacities to address the persistent disparities experienced by many cultural groups. Currently, there is no standard approach to cultural competence training (Shen, 2015). The current study examines data from a national survey of interdisciplinary trainees (n = 114) from graduate-level neurodevelopmental disabilities leadership programs from across the country. The results suggested that the leadership programs did include a range of cultural competence content and instructional methods, yet participants desired even more content than they received.
