The article focuses on unusually deep wintertime cirrus clouds at altitudes exceeding 13 kilometers above mean sea level, which were observed over the Alaskan subarctic.Topics being presented include comparisons with climatological datasets as well as cirrus clouds, which are unique within the Earth–atmosphere system
