- Abstract
The article presents research on how hematologic abnormalities in treatment-naïve HIV (human immunodeficiency virus) and AIDS patients can be used as prognostic tools. The prevalence of cytopenia and its relation to immunosuppression in HIV treatment-naïve patients was studied in a cross-sectional study of HIV-positive patients at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH) in Nigeria with a focus on blood irregularities like anemia, leucopenia, thrombocytopenia, and cytopenia.
