- Abstract
The article presents information about a study conducted by researcher P. Pronovost and colleagues to evaluate the implementation of evidence-based interventions designed to prevent intravenous catheter-related bloodstream infections. Some of the evidence-based interventions are hand washing, use of full-barrier precautions during the insertion of central venous catheters and removal of unnecessary catheters.
