- Abstract
The article highlights the fundamental features of the isolation and purification of mesenchymal stromal cells (MSC). When isolating MSC, all strategies must take into account that the cells are quite rare within their tissue source. One of these strategies is that the cells can be isolated by adherence, in which the MSC are selected by their capacity for adherence to plastic in vitro. It suggests that expansion is purification, since MSC will require substantial culture expansion.
