- Abstract
The article discusses the CareTrack Australia study which is designed to assess the appropriateness of health care delivery in Australia. Under the study, 22 medical conditions which include many common conditions in the country have been assessed. Results show that the sample population was given appropriate care at 57% of 35,573 eligible encounters. It notes that improving the appropriateness of health care can require a better design and more effective use of electronic information systems.
