- Title
Even Lawyers Sometimes Lose Situational Awareness.
- Authors
Haltom, Bill
- Abstract
The article reports on Northwest Airlines Corp.'s over an hour late flight from San Diego, California to Minneapolis, Minnesota because the plane's pilots missed the Minneapolis airport by 150 miles. The airplane's pilots reasoned that they overshot because they lost situational awareness due to their heated discussion regarding the company's policy. However, people in the court believed that they were sleeping as they were wearing pajama's, and their snore was on the flight recorder tape.
