- Abstract
The tight relationship between oral and pharyngeal cancer and HPV infection has already been proven by the scientific community. One of the main differences from the rest of the oncologic patients lies in the lack of alcohol or tobacco usage and the target of the younger population (25-35 years old). Usually, HPV oncologic patients are diagnosed early, but with cervical node involvement. Although there is a neck metastasis, they have a good five-year survival rate. Currently, there is no screening method for oral cancer, as Babeş-Papanicolau smeat represents for cervix, that's way it is so important for HPV vaccination to become a public health concern.
