- Title
Inadequate Evidence to Support Phase III Studies of Albumin in Severe Malaria.
- Authors
Woodrow, Charles J.; Planche, Timothy
- Abstract
The authors comment on the article "Volume Expansion With Albumin Compared to Gelofusine in Children With Severe Malaria: Results of a Controlled Trial" that was published in a 2006 issue. They argued that the study has found no significant difference between albumin and Gelofusine but it refused to further examine Gelofusine and suggested phase III studies of albumin as a neuroprotective agent that is claimed of possibly reducing mortality in severe malaria by over 80%.
