The article outlines best practices in sports medicine management in the secondary and collegiate settings. Topics discussed include the duties and responsibilities of the athletic trainer and team physician, the chain of command within the sports medicine team and the decision-making authority for approval of participation of student-athletes. Also mentioned are the tools used for performance-appraisal of the sports medicine team.
