- Abstract
The author discusses the aspects of hydatid cyst which is now considered a rare disease due to enhancements in health and epidemic prevention. Echinococcus is a parasitic disease caused by tapeworms that forms larval cysts in human tissues. The author believes that preoperative administration of albendazole will help sterilize the hydatid cyst even if surgical resection is considered as the first-line treatment for the disease.
