- Abstract
This is a cohort study of 102 allogeneic stem cell transplant recipients in a single hospital in Helsinki, Finland. Over a 2.5-year period, only two patients developed invasive aspergillosis (IA). Most environmental samples for Aspergillus spp. were negative and airway colonization was uncommon. The galactomannan assay was not useful as the incidence of IA was very low.
