- Abstract
Fifty-six taxa of fresh-water Cyanophyceae included in the families: Chroococcaceae, Chamaesiphonaceae, Oscillatoriaceae, Nostocaceae, Rivulariaceae, Scytonemataceae and Stigonemataceae are identified. Fifteen species: Merismopedia aeruginea Bréb., M. elabens (Bréb.) Kütz., Hydrocoleum ravenelli Wolle, Phormidium bigranulatum Gard., Pseudoanabaena mucicola (Hub.-Pest. & Naum.) Bourr. emend. Chang, Microchaete calothrichoides Hansg., Anabaena aequalis Borge, A. hollerbachii Obuchova, Rivularia aquatica de Wild, R. beccariana (De Not.) Born. & Flah., R. manghinii Frémy, Scytonema ocellatum Lyngb., S. stuposum (Kütz.) Born., Stigonema informe Kütz., S. mesentericum Geitler; four varieties: Chamaesiphon incrustans Grun. var. angustus Behre, Microchaete tenera Thur. var. minor Holler., Anabaena flos-aquae (Lyngb.) Bréb. var. minor W. West, Dichothrix orsiniana Born. et Flah. var. africana Frémy and one form: Tolypothrix byssoidea Hassall f. ß saxicola Grun. are described and illustrated for the first time in Argentina and another fifteen are new for the Rio Negro Province.
