- Abstract
The article focuses on Juno, a goddess in the Roman mythology, wife of Jupiter and mother of Mars, Vulcan, Bellona and Juventas, and discusses the origin of the Milky Way which is a circle of stars. Topics discussed include the Milky Way formed from the milk from Juno's left breast, earthward flow of the milk from Juno's right breast, protector of legally married women, March 1 as the festival in honor of Juno and Venetian artist Jacopo Tintoretto's painting "The Origin of the Milky Way."
