- Abstract
The article presents a study on the substituent effect in hetroelement-containing propynals. It is stated that cyclodextrins, which are cyclic oligosaccharides, are hydrophobic and capable of reversibly binding organic molecules. It notes that β-cyclodextrin is the most accessible and its catalytic action on acetyl substrate implies encapsulation of a guest molecule into the host activity. Details on the use of nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy in the study are also included.
