- Abstract
The article reports an innovative research by Laurie and colleagues on the retinoblastoma (RB) gene. The study applied the targeted strategy of attacking the RB-mutant cancer cells by targeting the molecules related to the RB pathway. The authors found that by inactivating pRB and adding nutlin-3 molecule led to enhanced p53 activity that stopped proliferation of RB cells. The authors suggest that studies on combining different innovative approaches could help in the fight against cancer.
