- Abstract
Objective: to validate an instrument for the control and prevention of surgical site infection in neurosurgery aimed at directing the actions of the Hospital Infection Control Commission (CCIH). Method: methodological study, with quantitative approach. After an integrative review, a screening tool was developed, subdivided into pre, trans and postoperative actions. This has been subject to validation of content by expert judges. The content validity index (CVI) was used to calculate the degree of agreement, for the general analysis of the instrument and for the validation of each item. Results: of the 24 questions proposed, 22 were valid and CVI was 0.96. Conclusion: the instrument demonstrated content validity.
